Drink: New Taste - Rosemount Cab

Rosemount Estates, Hill of Gold , Mudgee Cabernet Sauvignon, 2001
I think you should be able to get it for $13-14, not sure if the 2001 is still available. (Update 8/18: It is still available. I picked up a few bottles last night at my local "discount" wine merchant - $18. Apparently the word is out!)

Just a little something I pulled out of the cellar Saturday night - I think I picked it up last fall. It was awesome. Full bodied and fruity with just the right amount of tannin.

The label says "cassis and vanilla aromas dominate the nose, with intense red berry fruit and mint characters on the palate ... the classic firm tannin structure frames a deep complex finish." (Yeah - that's what I was thinking! I love it when they give you the tasting notes!).

Served with a grilled "tuscan" porterhouse, smashed potatoes and a fresh garden cucumber, tomato, and feta salad. Yummy!

Salute.
